Marin FC Crest Shadowed

COVID SITUTATION AND PROTOCOLS

The Covid Pandemic persists across the country and in our area.  Fortunately, soccer and Marin FC's activities are of relatively low risk of transmission or contraction of the virus due to the outdoor settings and natural distancing that commonly occurs. Nevertheless, to ensure continued training and competition in as close to normal fashion as possible, precautions, safety measures, and protocols must be maintained.

Vaccinations

All Marin FC Coaches and Staff are vaccinated.

Vaccination, including boosters, remains the single best precaution and safeguard available.  Currently approved for persons 5 years of age and older, this makes virtually all of our players eligible.

We STRONGLY urge all persons to get vaccinated.

Face Coverings

Face Coverings are not required at Marin FC trainings, games, or events unless specifically communicated or uniquely required by a venue or host.

Per CDC and Marin HHS policies:

"CDC recommends face coverings in outdoor settings for people who are unvaccinated and in sustained close contact with other people”  - Centers for Disease Control

and

"Masks are not required in outdoor public areas”  - Marin Health and Human Services

Further, the CDC defines contact as proximity (within six feet) of an infected person for at least fifteen minutes (cummulatively over a 24 hr. period). Accordingly, Marin FC coaches and staff are expected to maintain such social distancing to the extent possible.

Testing

As virus spread can occur even among vaccinated persons, testing is re-emerging as an important safety measure. In addition to medical facility organized testing, self-administered 'Rapid Tests" are an acceptable form of response to possible exposure.

Quarantining

Should an UNVACCINATED Marin FC player, parent, staff member or coach have a confirmed exposure (close contact) with a known positive, the person must quarantine for either:

1. Fourteen (14) days in which the person self monitors and remains sympton free for the entire time

or

2. A negative test result administered at least 48 hours after the time of possible exposure.

Should a VACCINATED person have a confirmed exposure (close contact) with a known positive, the person does NOT need to quarantine but is recommended to wear a face covering indoors, tested 5-7 days after exposure, and limit interactions with others to the extent practicable.

Isolation

Should a Marin FC player, parent, staff member or coach become infected as demonstrated by a positive test result, the person must notify the club inclusive of all recent participation in which exposure to others might have occered and self isolate for either:

1. Ten (10) days after the onset of first sypmtoms or five (5) days after test results confirm infection, in which the person self monitors and remains sympton free for the entire time

or

2. A negative test result administered at least seven (7) days after the time of infection diagnosis.

Notification

In alignment with NorCal's coordination and tracing efforts, Marin FC will notify other clubs or entities, as quickly as possible should an infection be diagnosed in a club member that reasonably poses an exporsue risk to persons outside our club, particularly coaches, staff players participating in matches.
