Marin FC Academy - Summer
Marin FC Academy - Summer is open to players between the ages 8 - 12.
As a premier soccer club offering the highest level of competition in Marin and Northern California, Marin FC proudly offers the Marin FC Academy training program, designed to help athletes refine their skills and elevate their game to the next level.
New for summer 2025, Marin FC will offer its Academy Program. Marin FC Academy represents an offseason development pathway, led by experienced professional coaches. The comprehensive training program emphasizes a balanced approach, integrating small-group training sessions with focused technical skill development. This combination ensures that players receive individualized attention while reinforcing key aspects of their game, such as ball control, tactical awareness, and overall athletic performance. Complementing an athlete’s existing off season training regimen, the Marin FC Academy helps players sharpen their technique, improve decision-making on the field, and gain the confidence needed to compete at the highest levels of soccer in Marin and Northern California.

CAMP DESCRIPTION
Our skilled coaching team will facilitate various activities and exercises aimed at teaching the fundamental skills that are at the heart of the beautiful game. The coaches will engage players in a fun and challenging week focused on developing soccer skills, infused with energy and enthusiasm. Campers will be organized into groups according to their age and skill level, and the program will emphasize sportsmanship, and essential soccer skills such as passing, dribbling, and shooting, as well as fostering an overall love for one of the most popular team sports in the world!
Our daily program will focus on individual development, speed and agility, skills training, ball control, dribbling, defending, passing and receiving, shooting and game-like decision making all through imaginary games that engage the players and they don’t even know they are learning.
Day 1: Ball Control & Dribbling
Effective ball control and manipulation during dribbling, receiving, and turning requires a focus on footwork, juggling, and both outside and inside touches, as well as enhancing the skills of the non-dominant foot, which is often the left foot.
Day 2: Passing
For example: 1v1 attacking & defending, personal spatial awareness, passing (short/long & using both feet), receiving ground/air (improve first touch and second touch), and tackling.
Day 3: Shooting
For example: shooting on target with improved accuracy, crossing/corner kicks (ground/air), turning in front of the goal, and (potentially) heading.
Day 4: World Cup Day
World Cup will allow our campers to show off their hard work from the week with lots of small-sided games. Campers are encouraged to wear their favorite soccer team/player jersey and prepare their goal scoring celebration.
What to Bring:
Campers should bring a nut-free hearty snack, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Campers should wear cleats, shin guards, and long socks. Please label personal items including jackets, backpacks, etc. Please do not bring personal items such as collectibles (cards, toys), and devices such as iPhones, tablets, etc. to camp. We cannot be responsible for these items. If your camper has any health conditions or other behavioral, social, or related considerations coaches should be aware of, please email the Camp Director or provide details in the registration form.
Registration
We moved the registration process to a different platform called BYGA so things may look a bit different if you have been part of Marin FC in the past. The registration link will take you to a registration form. Once you have submitted your registration information you will be asked to verify your email. When the email has been verified you will receive a confirmation and then we have to MANUALLY send you an invite to activate your BYGA account. This may take up to 48 hours, but your registration is confirmed when you get the confirmation email. Once your accept the invitation to create an account you will be able to view the schedules etc via the BYGA app, which you can download from your favorite app store. You can also login to the dashboard via your favorite browser on a computer or phone. The good news is that once you are verified and have accepted the invite you don't have to do it again.
Exact schedules are published in Byga so that players have direct and up-to-date access.
